Nishikori is underestimated on clay here it seems . He has trained on this surface quite a lot when in USA. He was last year’s runner up in Houston, it seems he skipped that tournament to do well here. He has trained here since around a week, whereas Ramos is still in Casablanca where he has just lost to Andujar in final.
Nishikori is by far better, complete player. Ramos is typical defender with not so much to offer. What is more surface here is similar to Houston – it is considerably fast one. I doubt Ramos will cope with pacy with never-say-die attitude Japanese who has all array of attacking shots and is himself good defender.
