FC Dordrecht – FC Oss

March 8, 20h00 CET
You might say Dordrecht is back in business after stopping their losing streak and beating title
candidates GAE on the road, but things are actually a little bit different. At GAE Dordrecht did win
(1-2), but definitely not with good football. Dordrecht didn’t deserve anything to be honest, as GAE
completely controlled the game and created plenty of chances to score from. However, it was
Dordrecht scoring from a counter attack halfway the first half, and scoring the winner from the
penalty spot. But Dordrecht’s win had nothing to do with good football, it was a result of pure luck. Or
to quote their coach: “I thought we were getting slaughtered in the second half”. Dordrecht isn’t back
on track, that’s for sure.
Oss seems to be a synonym for high goalscoring matches. After their 3-3 at Emmen they had Friday a
4-4 at Excelsior, and those draws brought them a little bit closer to the other bottom teams. Oss still is
at the bottom of the table, but the current form of them seems to be promising enough to get soon
out of trouble. At Excelsior they showed what we actually already know about them: they’re much
stronger since the winter break, and especially up front they’ve plenty of quality right now. Their
defence was a mess, but as Excelsior played with a same kind of attacking formation this wasn’t a
game for serious defending. Oss isn’t winning matches, but with five draws from their last six matches
it’s obvious that they’re expected to continue their way up and get their fourth win of the season.
Dordrecht is correctly named as favourite here, but there’s of course no way in the world you’ll gonna
play them at -1 for 2.00. That’s the world upside down. Dordrecht has the better team, but on form
against a rising relegation candidate it would be a suicide bet. I skip a bet on Oss as I expect them to
be the most attacking team here, but a fast passing game is impossible at Dordrecht’s pitch (which is
after Groningen’s desert the worst ground in Holland). The only playable option would be a goals bet,
but the over 3 line isn’t very spectacular at 2.00. I would skip this game.
Oss misses Jacobs, Quekel, Geurts, Van de Sande, Schoofs, Galata and Moutawakil. Dordrecht has
Van der Sloot and De Graaff out, Sequeira is doubtful.
