| Omniworld surprised big time last Friday. After a homewin over Helmond they managed to leave with
all three points at Telstar, and together with Fortuna Sittard they’re suddenly leaving the bottom zone.
Of course the table is a little bit unrealistic in the bottom zone as both Emmen and Oss played 21
games while Omniworld and Fortuna already had 24, but there’s a six and seven points gap and that’s
really enormous. At Telstar Omniworld played a really good game, which they controlled from the first
minute on. They scored twice during the opening thirty minutes of the game, and didn’t get in panic
after the 1-2 (also in the first half). In the second half Omniworld had to leave the initiative to the
hosts, but their organisation was good and although Omniworld didn’t get dangerous up front
anymore their defence was solid enough to survive for 45 minutes and add three more points to their
total. It’s maybe a little bit early on in the season to draw some conclusions already, but three points
against Emmen will give Omniworld a very, very big margin with the relegation spot.
It’s no use to say something about Emmen’s form here. They played in the year 2010 just one game
so far, and although it was a promising game against Dordrecht it’s totally irrelevant. Emmen’s form in
front of this game is a big question mark, as all of their recent games were postponed because of the
snow. It brought Emmen in a really difficult position. They improved their squad a lot and were really
expected to battle themselves out of the relegation zone, but without playing the gap increased to a
really big one. Of course Emmen has three games in hand, but how big’s the chance they take 9
points from these games? Emmen must start a winning streak as soon as possible, but no matter their
own form it looks like they’re facing Omniworld on a wrong moment.
Omniworld should win here, and bookies know that too. They’re priced at 1.85 for the -0,5 homewin
and I can’t say anything different than that we’ve a fair price here. Omniworld won their last two
games, is on a run, and three points against Emmen will make the margin really comfortable on the
table. Emmen has the qualities to leave with a draw here, but they didn’t had serious competition for
weeks and I would say that a homewin is by far the most likely outcome. |
