VVV Venlo (-0.25) vs. Vitesse - Preview

Author picks 5 units.

Match start at 14:30 hour.

TIP: 1 - CONGRATULATION
VVV is hot on home soil. This midweek they blew Heerenveen away with a convincing display and 3-1 at fulltime, but I don’t exaggerate by saying they could’ve won the game with 7-1 as well. VVV played a terrific game against a weak Heerenveen, and the number of really big chances was enormous. During the first fifteen minutes they scored almost from every chance and that was the difference with the rest of the game, as VVV still had plenty of chances but didn’t score anymore. Their passing game was excellent, the form of their wingers stunning, and after a disappointing roadgame at NAC they fully recovered on home soil. With Vitesse as next opponent they can fight themselves back into a solid midtable position, but the same scenario goes for Vitesse. Unlike VVV Vitesse didn’t convince this midweek. After promising displays against PSV, NEC and Heracles they played a poor game this midweek at Sparta but still managed to leave with a draw in the pocket. Vitesse wasn’t any worse than Sparta was, but they created less chances and were halfway the second half 1-0 down. Some hard work and a little luck brought them a late goal and a deserved point, but Vitesse didn’t impress like in the games before. It could’ve something to do with a weaker and less skilled opponent which made the game less technical, but we should also draw the conclusion Vitesse isn’t yet the stable side which performs on a solid level every week again. Here at VVV they definitely have a chance, but after watching VVV’s midweek game we should definitely rate them as big underdogs. For the second time in a row I’m going to back VVV Venlo. I really can’t resist -0,25 at 1.90. To compare this game with the Heerenveen-game isn’t fair as Vitesse won’t screw up their defensive duties, but I can’t see Vitesse keeping a clean sheet against one of the strongest home teams in this league who proved a few days ago to have wingers and midfielders in terrific form. I would say -0,5 for 2.00 would be a fair price for VVV, and for that reason I would definitely add this generous offer on my coupon. Neither side has squad problems.
