AZ - 0.25 AH vs. Olympiacos +0.25 AH - Preview

At the moment AZ Alkmaar is totally different team from AZ Alkmaar that won the Eredivisie last year. The team has all kind of problems. They even have some financial issues to solve !!!

As a result of this they are now occupying the 5th place in Holland Eredivisie, 16 points behind league leaders – Twente. The situation in CL is also terrible. They are on the last place in group H, with 2 points and 3 goals scored ! They are the team with most goals conceded – 7 and still winless! And I am pretty sure that they will finish their CL campaign without winning a match.

Koeman insist that his team has no other option but victory… Yeas, that is for sure but I just cannot see it happens. I feel that Koeman knows that he should concentrate on Eredivisie. AZ cannot afford to play on their best in CL looking at their situation in Holland.

What about Olympiacos. They are currently second in Greece Super League with just 4 points behind Panathinaikos. Their last two games ended both even.

They have great chances for progressing to the next stage in CL. They are currently on the second place with 6 points ( 2 wins and 2 loses) but Standard Liege is right behind them and they cannot afford to lose this game. I should say that Oly are great travelers!

Their coach Zico was pointed as coach of Olympiacos just 1 day before the first game against AZ. In this train of thoughts he should enjoy playing against AZ as his side won the first game 1-0. AZ also have to think about their upcaming game with Panathinaikos this weekend

Olympiacos are definitely in better form than AZ. I just cannot see them losing this visit.
