| Holland have a strong squad for this match against Paraguay, coming after a 0-0 draw in Italy on Saturday. Arjen Robben, Van der Vaart, Sneijder or Van Bommel are all set to compose a strong midfield while in the attack Van Persie is a small doubt and is expected to be given a rest but still Kuyt, Huntelaar, Elia and Babel are all excellent choice. As for goalkeeper, Stekelenburg is the first team choice at the moment, and with Holland not tasting defeat at home for quite a while no one really expects a surprise now. Paraguay qualified to the World Cup pretty much with ease. After an excellent first half of the campaign when they wre 1st on the table they faded near the end as their defence started to concede much more goals and their level of concentration has been down ever since. In the last 2 weeks they played 2 friendlies, a 2-1 loss in Chile and on Saturday they unexplainably lost 2-0 in Qatar. The main strength for them has been their defence, but it's leaking goals bad lately and against Holland one can't afford that. In their attack Valdez is in mediocre shape at the moment but not quite a top striker while Santa Cruz just came back after an injury and is not 100%. Holland is definetly the better side, attacking football comes natural for them and they take no prisoners. Easy home win. |
