Safarova vs. Kerber - Preview

Safarova has very good results in this tournament – was losing finalist in 2007 and 2010. Last year she lost in first round, but she was not fit enough after some injury in Fed Cup (where she retired during the match). She is very good on indoor hard surface as she is very fast, has nice and accurate groundstrokes and very good attitude and grit. I watched her matches last year in Copenhagen where she made comebacks from set and 0-4 in 2nd down.
She was left out of Davis Cup so surely will want to show her ability here. A bit ironic is fact that in Davis Cup she could have faced Kerber (who won vs Hradecka in added match after Czechs won 3-0 before). Safarova is a leftie, is only once place below Kerber in ranking, so a lot of motivation here.
I wrote a lot about Safarova as her results depend mainly on feeling of surface and motivation and if something is not right with any of these factors she becomes unreliable. Here both factors favors her strongly.
Kerber lost here in all of two participations here, recently hardly ever wins as underdog and has negative record vs left-handers. I think that she will lose here in the end.
