Aston Villa vs. Liverpool - Preview

Precious points for Liverpool earned in front of their fans last weekend against QPR. Now they are where they belong, next behind Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea and both clubs from Manchester. Well, I believe that the main goal for Liverpool is to earn somehow a spot in the Champions league, that will be huge success, but I have doubts about that. honestly, I do believe that they will satisfy at the end with a spot in the Europa league, considering the quality in the other clubs in the league. However, it is always better to aim high, that keep the moral on a higer level, something which is really needed in this kind of matches.

Since Alex McLeish came to Aston Villa, he easily imposed his style of play, but that is not very attractive side. Alex prefers his players to have cautious approach on every match, not too much on the attack neither too much playing defense, just keeping the possession and control the match in the middle of the field. The stats only fulfill my stating that they are playing less atractive football, only 43% of the matches played at Villa Park have ended with three and over goals. Maybe the reason for that is the poor form by their best striker Bent, maybe, but he is kinda sleepy machine and once he gets the right rhythm it\'s really hard to keep the control on him while you are playing defense.

On the contrary, Liverpool is still missing both crucial players from the middle, their captain Gerrard and Lucas Leiva, so we might see some changes in the formation like 4-3-3 with Kuyt, Suarez and one of Bellamy and Downing. Despite I like to see Liverpool with both Carroll and Suarez upfront but the English striker is far from his best this season.

It smells like a draw, we will see at the end, but I would rather chose to bet on goals tomorrow...
