Zurich vs. Vaslui - Preview

     Vaslui needs to win this game in order to qualify, and the bookies made them favorites based on that assumption. But they have important missings before this game, as Wesley and Temwanjera are both missing up-front while a couple of problems in the defensive line have appeared as well with center defenders Canu and Papp both out, and a 3rd center defender,  Farkas is a doubt.

 

     Even though Vaslui needs a win here, they will still play with 2 defensive midfielders, Gladstone and Pavlovici. Combined with their missings only the motivation can make them favorites in this game.

 

    Zurich is a good team, no matter the standings in the table. It is pretty clear that Swiss football is at a better level than Romanian with Basel defeating Manchester UTD in the Champions League, Sion defeating Celtic. There is more money in Swiss football, better level players, the youth are given a chance, and no matter what bookies are trying to tell u regarding odds here, Zurich should be rated as favorites.

 

   Vaslui got 5 out of their 6 points from their home games. The pitch gave them an important advantage, as it certainly did not favour the more technical team, Vaslui put a lot of fight in those games, and emerged with a couple of points. On the road however things were different. Outplayed by both Sporting and Lazio, and should consider themselves happy with they point they got in Italy, rather undeserved from my point of view.

 

      There won\'t be any favours from Zurich, the pitch is in their favour, Vaslui has important missings for this game, and we could see last season when Grasshopers totally outplayed Steaua at home just how this sort of matches can end up.
